Features and care
Jasminum mesnyi, known as primrose jasmine, is an evergreen or semi-evergreen scrambling shrub with long, arching branches. It is valued for its early flowering and can be used on slopes, walls, fences and supports, or left to cascade naturally down banks.
It forms a broad mass of green, flexible stems clothed in glossy, dark green trifoliate leaves. Its flowers are large, semi-double and deep yellow to pale yellow. They appear mainly from late winter through spring, creating a bright contrast with the evergreen foliage.
It adapts to full sun or part shade, flowering more abundantly in sunny positions. It prefers cool, well-drained soil, with regular watering in warm months and pauses that allow the soil to aerate. It reaches 2 to 4 m and shows fast growth. Its hardiness falls within USDA zones 8–11; it should be protected from hard frost and waterlogging should be avoided.
At Ornacom we cultivate each specimen directly, guaranteeing a balanced size and abundant flowering from the first years of planting.
