Features and care
Eucalyptus polyanthemos, known as the round-leaved gum, is an evergreen tree with a relatively dense crown. Its bluish-gray foliage provides contrast to large plantings and compositions with silvery tones, while the rounded shape of many leaves softens its visual texture.
It can develop a relatively short trunk and a rounded crown. The leaves are oval, elliptical, or nearly circular, and accompany the inflorescences, which are grouped in panicles. Flowering is usually concentrated in spring and early summer, with variations depending on the climate, followed by small woody capsules.
In full sun, it reaches 15 to 25 meters in height and grows rapidly. It prefers dry to cool, well-drained soils and requires low supplemental irrigation during establishment and drought. Partial drying should be allowed between applications. It tolerates moderate humidity and falls under USDA hardiness zones 8–10, requiring protection from severe frosts, especially during the early stages of growth.
At Ornacom we cultivate each specimen directly, guaranteeing a balanced size and abundant flowering from the first years of planting.
