The Cycas revoluta (bulbs), popularly known as sago palm, in bulb format, is also marketed in bulb or bare-root trunk format, without developed foliage—a presentation widely used for transporting large specimens and for subsequent sprouting at the destination.

This presentation allows for the acquisition of large-caliper, century-old specimens at a much lower cost and logistical complexity than foliated specimens, making it highly valued by landscapers and collectors.

Once planted and established, it tolerates moderate drought well; it requires regular watering and heat during the sprouting process after planting.
